Frames Inspection

Frames were completed on Wednesday as confirmed over a phone message from our CLE.  Windows and sliding doors for the alfresco, laundry and balcony were installed Thursday.  I rang up our Site Supervisor Rick to arrange frames inspection which he said can only be done on a weekday between 8am-12pm.  Husband cannot definitely make it on such a time-slot due to work commitment.  Rick is non-compromising which disappointed me but nonetheless had to agree to meet him by myself on Friday as we do not want delay with the construction.  So, Friday morning at 8.30am I met Rick on-site who took me through the inspection which lasted for about 30 minutes.  There were no tradesmen working on the site on that day and Rick said they will come back Monday to do the roofing.  I pointed out to Rick that they missed adding frames for our lounge wall variation.  He said that the matter can be fixed on the same day and will only need an hour for the tradesmen to complete.  I also stressed to Rick that we are putting our 100% trust to CH that the house is being built within specifications and quality standards.  Rick has 12 years of experience as SS within the home-building industry and sounds really an expert in his field, so, we'll have to give our thumbs up for the progress he made with our house so far.

  1. Well Done Flipflop - we paid for an Independent Inspection at PrePlaster - gutter, fascia, roof, plumbing and electrical rough-in completed.... before everything covered up with gyprock. Some minor issues reported and rectified within 24 hours. Good Luck

  4. Hi Flipflop, just saw your comment on an old post of mine re aggregate driveway.
We are using Joe from Markwood Pty. Ltd. (Mentone Mix 'Richfield') Worth a trip to Mentone Mix Showrooms to view sample finishes.
Joe is doing driveway, paths, alfresco and beyond...excavation, crushed rock etc, two clear sealer coats, saw control cuts - two day pour job. Alfresco and paths will be saw cut into 800 - 1000mm slabs. Driveway - pretty standard size, he was comparable at $2,900
Great guy, in the business for 30 years - did an excellent job on our son's driveway. Difficult downslope which has been successfully tested with recent downpours.
