Nearly There

We're now counting the days to PCI.  The final rendering is completed.  Door handles, privacy locks and stoppers were fitted.  Glass splashback and carpets have been installed.  A layer of tapsoil was spread and levelled around the house perimetre.

Carlisle is so organised that we already received our settlement documents  a week ago.  Our CLE advised us that we should forward the final invoice to our bank immediately so they can prepare  for their own inspection and of course the final payment in bank cheque form.   The handover date is yet to be arranged after the PCI.

Oh and yes, we've met on-site one of Mentone Pre-mix's recommended concreters B to do a quote on our driveway and footpaths.  We saw the exposed aggregate samples a week before and we are keen to have "sunrise" for our stone mix.

  3. Oh Flipflop, you must be soooooo happy with how it's come up. Seriously, what a great job with your colours.

Snap on the sunrise - we think that's what we're doing too. Today anyway. I tend to change my mind every hour or so.

Brilliant!!! Love it!!! So excited for you!!!

  4. Have loved reading the progress on your gorgeous Carlisle home. We are building the Vogue and are just 2 weeks behind you! Our inspection is booked for the 30th June. We cannot believe the similarities with ours and your colour choices, we have city beige floor tiles and gloss ice cream in some sreas, they look great. All the best with your move, fantastic.

  5. Congratulations!! Yeah your colour selection has lots of similarities to ours. Love your jasper garage door. This is my choice too.

I have a question for you :) How much do you recon it might cost your driveway?

  6. Thanks ladies for your comments. we are getting really excited now, anticipating the big move.

Yam on your question - we were quoted 5,200 for the exp aggregate driveway including portico and foothpath surrounding the front of the house, and another 1,200 for coloured concrete foothpath on both sides of the house. We might get another quote from another concreter this weekend to have a comparison.

  7. Thank you Flipflop for your answer! $5,200 is not too bad. I heard that you have to use coloured concrete even with exp agg to get the best result. I think this is something you can ask from them. Yeah get few quotations.

  8. Hi Flipflop, sorry about the previous post...this blogger is giving me a very hard time in posting comments:)..

your house looks perfect now..and love your facade colours too..you must be very busy with getting ready to move now and all the best for your PCI..! Are you going for an independent inspection..?

  9. We had to cancel the independent inspection after long discussions with husband and getting feedback with friends and family who built previously. Hubby is pretty confident with the build and he's been visiting and checking every single day since it started keeping record of what needs addressing. CH is an awesome and quality builder indeed!
